PCF Attestation Providers help ensure trusted, transparent and reliable Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data across the Catena-X ecosystem.
As independent third parties, they verify PCF data against Catena-X rulebooks and recognised standards.
Become a Catena-X PCF Attestation Provider
The PCF Attestation Provider role is designed for organisations with proven expertise in auditing, verification and conformity assessment.
Attestation Providers conduct independent evaluations, issue verification statements and certificates, and maintain traceable documentation — without directly accessing or storing data within the Catena-X Data Space.
By becoming a PCF Attestation Provider, your organisation contributes to a trusted and interoperable ecosystem and supports sustainable transformation across the automotive value chain.

Application & Fee
The qualification is personalised and valid for one year. It will be issued to you in digital form after successful application and receipt of your payment.

Currently the application is possible for the role of a PCF Verifier and PCF Certifier.
PCF Verifier
Verify individual PCF data with confidence.
A PCF Verifier is an independent party who reviews and confirms that a specific Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) dataset has been calculated in accordance with the applicable rules and standards. The Verifier’s assessment provides assurance that the reported PCF value is accurate and trustworthy for the intended use. Verification focuses on the correctness and transparency of individual PCF data records.
PCF Certifier
Assess and certify an organisation's PCF capabilities.
A PCF Certifier evaluates and certifies an organization’s overall PCF program, including its processes, methodologies, and management systems for generating PCF data. Certification demonstrates that the company is generally capable of producing PCF values in line with the required standards, but does not guarantee the accuracy of each individual dataset. The Certifier’s role is comparable to a quality management system auditor.
How to become a Catena-X PCF Attestation Provider
Qualification Process
The qualification process to become a Catena-X PCF Attestation Provider consists of the following steps:
Register in the Catena-X Data Space
If you haven’t already done so, register on the Catena-X Data Space via Cofinity-X and obtain your BPNL there. You will need this to start the process of qualifying as a PCF Attestation Provider here on the Catena-X Campus.
Create your Catena-X Campus Account
If you do not already have an account, create one on the Catena-X Campus. Registration is free.
Submit your Application
Complete the online application form to apply for recognition as a Catena-X PCF Attestation Provider.
After submitting the form, you will receive access to the PCF Attestation Provider knowledge test.
A minimum score of 90% is required to pass the knowledge test.
Application Review
Catena-X reviews your application and verifies that all qualification requirements have been met.
Pay the Qualification Fee
Once your application has been approved, you will receive an invoice for the qualification fee.
Receive your Recognition
After payment has been received, you will receive your Catena-X PCF Attestation Provider recognition certificate and the relevant supporting documents.

Please note that invoicing is carried out by e4 Qualification GmbH (previously handled by invenio GmbH Engineering Services) as a service provider of Catena-X Automotive Network e.V.
